Fulu, 福禄, represents two of the most cherished wishes in Chinese culture: good fortune and prosperity. The word itself is phonetically echoed in húlu, the Chinese word for gourd, which is why the gourd shape has long been considered an auspicious form in Chinese tradition. This teapot carries that same rounded, grounded silhouette. 
 
The surface is fired with a gold glaze, warm and aged in tone rather than showy. The unglazed interior and honeycomb filter at the spout are functional details that reflect the care put into how this pot actually brews. Made in Dehua, Fujian using traditional craft methods.
